It seems to be the end of February when we Canadians truly get SICK of winter and really need a pick me up for the home or office. Thank goodness it’s precisely this time of year when beautiful bulbs appear on the market and herald the promise of spring.
Forcing bulbs has been a popular and challenging undertaking for gardeners for years, and today bulbs are widely available for the everyday consumer to enjoy at home. Longer lasting than cut flowers and without the commitment of a plant, even someone without a green thumb can enjoy all the colour and fragrance bulbs have to offer.

Vibrant tulips, fragrant hyacinths and paperwhites are the most popular store-bought options, however crocuses, daffodils, and irises are also commonly available. Placing them in a ceramic pot is a traditional way of displaying bulbs, but bulbs also look incredibly chic sitting in clear glass and perched on a bed of river rocks.
