Flowers to Function - Holiday Edition
16 December 2010

We are going to start a new series here called Flower to Function.  Basically, we will take a Pistil arrangement and match it to a photo of a room.  We want to show how easy it is to incorporate flowers and colour into your home, no matter what your style is.

Since a certain holiday is creeping up very quickly, we thought we would focus on Christmas for this inaugural post.

What do you get when you mix Peruvian Berries and Berried Juniper?  An exotic and colourful arrangement that not only looks chic, but is aromatic and long lasting.  You could place this arrangement anywhere in your home, but it will really stand out in a front entryway, as it will be the first thing your guests will see (and smell!)

If the traditional look is more your thing, mini "angel`s breath" Oncidium Orchids will match any red and green décor.  These delicate flowers create a unique juxtaposition against the large and coarse Christmas tree.  Placed in a clear bowl or our antique, crackled pewter signature holiday vase, they will look elegant on a side table or coffee table.

If you are looking for a unique colour combination for the holidays, look no further!  Peach and silver is delicate and winter crisp. Paired beautifully with Dusty Miller, Peach Amaryllis and Equadorian Roses, it is a perfect accent to your white interior space.  Place a cluster of these arrangements on your dining room table and your guests will surely appreciate your colourful departure from the norm.

To accentuate your unique holiday decor, try using nontraditional textures.  The mix of Roses, Amaryllis, Peruvian Berries, and Rosehip Berries, beautifully nestled in our antique, crackled pewter signature holiday vase, will add warmth to any space in your home.  This arrangement works best as a centerpiece on your dining table and will impress even your hungriest guests!

If you would like to add any of these holiday arrangements to your home for the holidays, or if you have something else in mind, come and visit us at the shop.  We’ll be happy to work with you to find the right look.  Happy Decorating!
