Happy Earth Month: Our Living Wall
27 April 2011

We wanted to end off our Earth Month posts with a bang, so without further adieu, here is Pistil`s newly constructed "Living Wall"

What better way to celebrate the Earth (and make it look good too!) than implementing a living, breathing, indoor wall of plants.  A living wall, otherwise known as a vertical garden, is an organized system of plants that grow vertically and are used to show off your plants, cover an unslightly wall, create privacy or just create a beautiful work of art.  They are great because they don`t take up any floor space, they are easy to install, completely modular and easy to maintain.  And no mess!

With the help of Wooly Pockets, a family owned and operated company based in LA and Phoenix that invented this system, we created our own living wall in the store.  We used a wide variety of green plants to create some texture and colour to our vertical garden.

They really can look great anywhere, but we think a living wall would really benefit an office setting.  Not only would it be a unique art installation that would amaze your employees and clients, having an abundance of plants cleans the air by soaking up all the indoor air pollution.  To find out more about which plants do this best, you can read our blog post here.

To give you a better idea of how a living wall can look, here are some real offices that are clearly rocking it:

Like what you see? Want to see it in your office?? Give us a call!  We will check out your space and give you a quote for, not only the installation of the living wall, but a maintenance package, so that your wall is always look fresh!
